IDENTITY THEFT - A VIEW FROM THE UK

The latest research shows that up to 6 million UK residents believe they've been the victim of ID theft, and that the 18-29 year old age group are the main victims and perpetrators. The findings indicate that reported crime figures for identity theft are merely the tip of the 'I.D Theft Iceberg'

In this interview, Martin Gill ( Professor of Criminology and an identity theft specialist.) reveals what makes UK residents suceptible to I.D theft and what steps we can take to avoid it.

Unfortunately, nowadays identity thefts are much popular, not only among UK residents. I doubt that we can create infallible method to protect ourselves. The best solution is to say no to applying for credit cards online.
